We are pleased to announce that TNAUK members and subscribers
will be
able to purchase the electronic text reading device, BookCourier, at
a special price of (UKP)199 from Techno-Vision Systems Ltd.,

BookCourier, produced by Springer Design Inc., is a small (6cm
x 12cm
x 2.5cm) portable device that will enable you to read plain text
electronic files and listen to mp3 sound files. Special modifications
have been made by Springer Design to enable it to navigate through
TNAUK electronic newspapers and magazines, by article, paragraph,
sentence and word; a further development that is envisaged will allow
the reader to move to a specific article from the contents page. It
also makes a useful device for reading the many Project Gutenberg
books that we make available to our members. Software updates from
Springer Design for BookCourier are free of charge.
BookCourier has been extensively tested by two of the charity's
Trustees, Prof. Isaac Porat and Neil McLachlan who both expressed
positive views of the device. BookCourier must be connected to a PC
which has Windows 2000 or Xp and does require some computer literacy,
but if you currently take TNAUK electronic papers or magazines by
email or from the web site, you almost certainly have the necessary skills.
